Earth's highest & dangerous mountain - Mount Everest.

Mount Everest, which also known as Sagarmāthā in Nepal and Chomolungma in Tibet, it is Earth's highest mountain located in the Mahalangur mountain border between Nepal and Tibet. Mount Everest attracts many professional mountaineers and climbers willing to hire professional guides. There are two climbing routes, one is Standard route which approaching the summit from the southeast in Nepal and other one from the north in Tibet. Mount Everest is also on of the most dangerous place on the earth. The climbers and mountaineers have to face many difficult challenges on the route of everest, the presents dangers of Mount Everest such as sickness, changing weather, wind, avalanches and the Khumbu Icefall. There are also many physical dangers to the climbers on the Mount Everest. Many people frequently die from these dangers. The four main dangers on mount everest are frostbite, hypothermia, snowblindness, and acute mountain sickness (AMS).

In Nepal, the mount everest is called as a Sagarmatha (Goddess of the sky) and in Tibet it is called Chomolungman (Mother goddess of the universe). The English name "Everest" was given after Sir George Everest, who was the British surveyor general of India in 1865. Before that, the Mount Everest was known as Peak 15.

  • Mount Everest rises 4 mm higher every year because of natural geologic uplift.

  • More than 4,000 climbers have attempted to climb Everest.
  • Something around 235 people have died on Everest (exact number is unknown)

  • In 2014, 16 Nepalese guides killed near base camp due to avalanche. This is one of the greatest tragedy ever seen on Everest.

  • Jordan Romero is the youngest person who reached mount Everest, he was only 13 years old that time and Yuichiro Miura from Japan was the oldest person which was 80 years old when they reached the Everest.

  • Mount Everest is one of the oldest mountain on the earth, it was formed about 60 million years ago.

  • On the way to the Everest, a climber will pass over 200 dead bodies of previous climbers. Many of these bodies are extremely well preserved due to the extreme cold temperature.

  • Avalanches and ice falls are the leading causes of death for climbers on Everest.


  • The first successful effort to climb Mount Everest was made by Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay on may 19 1953.


  • The Winds on the Everest have been recorded at more than 200mph speed.


  • The Burj Khalifa is world’s tallest man-made building in Dubai at a height of 829m. Everest is more than ten times of Burj Khalifa's height.

  • Sometimes, the wind can blow over 200mph speed and the temperature can be -80F. 

  • The youngest person who climb mount everest was a American citizen Jordan Romero at the age of 13 year 11 months, on may 23, 2010. He climbed from the north side of Mount Everest. 

  • The oldest person who climbed this mount is Japanese citizen Miura yiuchiro at the age of  80 years on may 23, 2013.

  • On Mount Everest 18 different climbing routes are available for climbers.

  • All climbers use bottled oxygen when they reach highest level of the mount, because it helps climbers to keep warm.

  • It takes 40 days to climb mount everest.
