Italy Tour - Destination Bucket

Italy is a beautiful country in Europe, based along a long Mediterranean coastline, this boot shaped country also has world's most attractive tourist destinations with it's art treasures, stunning landscapes, trendy fashion and tasty cuisine. Rome is a capital of Italy and a home of the Vatican city. Some other major cities include Florence, Venice and Italy's fashion capital "Milan".

1. Rome
Rome is the capital city of Italy and a cosmopolitan city, located in the central region of Lazio. Rome is a vast city that display it's historic and modern art, architecture and culture. This city is Best known for ancient Roman structures and the Vatican City. The main attractions in Rome is the Colosseum, Vatican City, Roman Catholic Church, St. Peter’s Basilica and the Vatican Museums. There is so much to do in Rome, just have time to see it all.

2. Tuscany
Tuscany is a most famous region in central Italy, the Florence is its capital, which is a home of some world’s most recognizable sites of art and architecture, such as Michelangelo’s "David" statue, Uffizi Gallery and Duomo basilica. Its diverse natural landscape, beautiful rolling hills, olive groves, vineyards and cypress trees attracts everyone from all over the world. Also, The largest of several Tuscan islands ''Elba'' offers beautiful beaches and Pisa is famous Leaning Tower in Italy.

3. Venice
Venice is the unique city and the capital of Veneto region in North Italy, it built over 100 small islands of Adriatic Sea. This city has no roads, only canals and bridges, that's why this city is called as "city of canals". The central square, Piazza San Marco, St. Mark’s Basilica and the Campanile bell tower are some best places to see here. The Grand Canal is most famous in Venice, which divides the city into two parts. Amazing canals and historic architecture make this city as one of the most romantic place in the world. Venice is sometimes crowded but well worth visiting to see its architectural design with canals.

4. Pompeii
Pompeii is a great archaeological site based in  Campania region of South Italy, near the coast of the Bay of Naples. Once a famous and sophisticated Roman city, Pompeii was buried under several meters of volcanic ash for over 1,700 years and pumice after the catastrophic eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 A.D. The preserved site offers to see everyday life of the ancient Roman world. Visitors can walk along the historical streets to see the remains of bakeries, brothels and baths that visitors can freely explore.

5. Milan
Milan is a global center for fashion and design located in Lombardy region of North Italy, also a Home of national stock exchange and well known for its shiny shops and restaurants. This city was almost destroyed by heavy bombing attacks during world War II. Milan have many famous tourist attraction such as Paintings of  Leonardo da Vinci, the La Scala Opera House, The Last Supper, the Castello Sforzesco and world’s largest Gothic cathedral. Milan is also a glamorous city in Italy with modern architecture.

6. Naples
Naples city is one of the busiest metropolitan cities in the country located in south Italy, based on the Bay of Naples. Close to the active volcano of Mount Vesuvius, which destroyed the nearby Roman town Pompeii. Naples city is well known for its beautiful art and architecture. This city is the capital of the Campania region of South Italy. The city's famous attraction is cathedral, the Duomo di San Gennaro, the lavish Royal Palace and a 13th-century Castel Nuovo. Also, many famous Italian food items originated from here such as spaghetti, parmigiana and pizza.

  1. Thanks for cascading the Italy tour destination bucket blog. My wife & I are planning a trip to Amalfi coast & Capri again which were the best part of our vacation last year. I have already applied for Italy Schengen visa Online.
    Thanks for making me recall the moments that I cherished with my wife at this astonishing country of Schengen Region.
