Statue of Unity is a memorial of India's iron man, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The statue has been made to inspire the Citizens of India with his patriotism and struggle for freedom. The 182 meters tallest statue is made with Bronze and it attracting attention of the whole world as the 'Tallest statue in the World'. The statue of Unity is situated in Gujrat, near Narmada river on the Island of Sadhu overlooking the Narmada Dam from 3.2 km away.
The Statue of Unity is well connected via expressways, railways and helipads for the convenience of tourists. The surrounding area of the statue is now like a haven for the Industries, Research facilities and educational institutions to improve their economic integrity in that region.
After inauguration of Statue of Unity on October 31 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, this monument of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel has attracted over 3 lakh tourists. Tourists come here to see the most tallest 600 feet height of the Statue of Unity. The surrounding Sardar Sarobar dam and Vindhyachal hills are also nice to see. To attract lots of tourists, the tourism department of Gujarat has started online booking system for not only getting entry to the statue of Unity site but also for tourism packages including tent houses.
The Gujarat government was announced this project in 2010 and the work to make this tallest statue in the world was started on 31 October 2013, which was a 138th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The construction of the Statue was completed on 22 October 2018 and it will be inaugurated on 31 October 2018, on the 143rd Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
Statue of Unity timings
The Statue of Unity is open for the visitors in six days of a week and it is closed on every Monday for tourists due to maintenance work of the Statue. Entry to the monument opens from 9 am to 5 pm.
Statue of Unity ticket price and process of booking
Anyone can book tickets for visiting the Statue of Unity online as well as offline. For booking online ticket you can visit official website, where you can book your tickets easily by selecting the date and time. Each ticket is issued for the time of two hours. A basic ticket to get entry to the Statue of Unity will cost you Rs 120 for adults and Rs 60 for kids. On this tickets you can get entry to the valley of flower, memorial, museum, audio visual gallery, the site of Statue of Unity and to the Sardar Sarovar Dam.
To get a bird’s eye view of the surroundings areas of the site from the height of 400 feet, you need to buy a different ticket, which also gives you entry to the observation desk of the Statue. This ticket costs will be cost you Rs 350 for adults and Rs 200 for kids, which takes you to the observation deck using high-speed elevators and if you want to beat the queue on weekends or holidays, you can buy express ticket which will cost you around Rs 1,000 per person.

The site is located about 90 km away from Vadodara which can be reached using State Highway 11 or State Highway 63. If you are coming from Mumbai, use the NH48 and change to SH64 near Mulad, but the journey from Mumbai via road will be very long for you about 420 km.
