Tadoba National Park, a perfect destination for weekend

Finding a best place to spend weekends becomes very difficult, because everyone want perfect place for their weekend trip. Here in India many beautiful places are available where anyone can spend their weekend. But, if you like animals and want to see the different types of animals at one place then visit to the national park is worth. The Tadoba National Park is one of those national parks which protects tigers, it is located in Maharashtra state of India and can be a great option to visit in the weekend. Tadoba is one of the most oldest and largest national park in Maharashtra. It is also known as Tadoba Tiger Reserve park. It is located in Chandrapur district of Maharashtra state, about 150 km from Nagpur city. The total area of ​​the tiger Reserve spread on the 1,727 sq km, including the Tadoba National Park which was built in the year 1955.

Why go to Tadoba National Park?
According to the national census of 2010, there are approximately 43 tigers living in the reserve, which is the highest in India. The Tadoba National Park is divided into three separate forest areas, the Tadoba north border, the Mohalli range and the Kolsa south border. There are three water sources are available in the park, the Tadoba River, the Tadoba lake and the Kölsa Lake. Safari is allowed in all three areas of the park.

Apart from this, the park is also divided into several areas:

Moharli or Mehrauli Zone:

This is the best place in the park to see animals. This is one of the famous and ideal place for wildlife Safari and also a main part of the park.

Tadoba Zone:

This area is famous for beautiful places and animal spots. There are four gateways in this area.

Area of ​​Kolsa:

This area is full of forest area in this park. Finding any rare wild animal is not easy. Here the three areas of park is famous for any Wildlife Safari.

At the northern part of the park has dense forests and covered with hills. When you see from the height, it looks very beautiful. There are mountain boundaries in the western part of the park. Height ranges from 200 meters to 350 meters. At the slopes of the hilly terrain and the valleys the rich population of animals can be found.

The Tadoba lake is spread on the 300 acres area in the southern part of the park. It works as a divider which separates the park from the field like a border. This area is famous for finding crocodiles and many other animals who come to quench their thirst.

Tadoba National Park Safari:
The wildlife Safari is the main attraction for tourists in the Taroba National Park. You can go in open jeep with a guide or safari on the bus. The open jeep safari is most famous for finding and experiencing wildlife. Jeep or gypsy safari should be booked at the DFO office near the park. The Instant Booking is available at Navegaon Gate of the park. No online booking facilities are available for this wildlife safari. Apart from this, anyone can also get the private jeep on rent from nearby taxi stand.

Mohalli Gate:
This is the oldest gateway in the park and it allows only nine vehicles to cross during a safari round. There are two safari rounds can be allowed every day.

Kuswanda Gate:
At this gate only four vehicles are allowed at a time in the morning and evening. Altogether, eight vehicles enter everyday.

Kolara Gate:
This gate is allowed to enter 18 vehicles every day. Pangdi Gate: This is the park's gate and only four vehicles can go from this in the day. Zari Gate: This gate allows to cross only 12 vehicles during one day.

Wildlife Safari Time

The Tadoba National Park is closed on Tuesday and it also closed from June to October. The weather varies year after year. During the summer season, Safari starts at 5:30 in the morning and ends at 7:30 a.m., again its starts at 3 PM in afternoon and ends at 4:30 PM. There is no any safari vehicle allowed inside the park from 6.30pm.

In the rainy season, safari starts from 5 a.m. In the morning and ends at 7 a.m. Again Safari starts at 3:30 pm and ends by 5 pm in the evening.

During the winter, the journey of wildlife begins at 6 a.m. and ends at 8 a.m. in the morning. The evening safari starts from 2:30 pm and ends by 4 pm.

Tickets for visiting to Tadoba National Park is 20 rupees per person. If you take vehicle to roam the park, then you have to pay 50 rupees for it. 2 rupees for carrying the camera and if you want any guide, then you will have to pay 100 rupees extra for it.

How to reach to the Tadoba National Park?

By plane:
The International Airport is located in Nagpur, which is the nearest airport of the park. From Nagpur international airport, there are many road transports are available to reach Tadoba.

By Rail:
The nearest railway station of this park is Chandrapur railway station. It is 45 km away from the park. The station connects trains from other important cities of the country like Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Chennai.

By Road:
Buses and cars from nearby cities can take you to the park. Anyone can also rent a car from Chandrapur to reach at the park. Chandrapur is connected to all the important cities through the National Highway.
