Today I will tell you about some of the best monsoon destination near Mumbai, which can makes your monsoon trip more exciting, So let's know about them. I have a list of some awesome places to explore near Mumbai in monsoon, all are located outside of Mumbai, which makes them perfect weekend destination to enjoy your day.
1. Lonavala
Lonavala is a very popular hill station based between Pune and Mumbai, Lonavala looks great during monsoons, with its lush greenery, active waterfalls, lakes and green mountains this place attract lots of visitors. This place is located just few hours ride from Mumbai and Pune, mostly known for great monsoon destination, especially for hikers and trekkers. With all this awesome things, this is an all in one place to visit near Mumbai during monsoon.

My personally favorite destination for monsoon trip near Mumbai, Malshej Ghat is a beautiful hill station in Sahyadri mountains ranges. The drive from Mumbai to Malshej Ghat in monsoon offers a picturesque view of surrounding splendid valleys and lakes. This mountain is also a home of various flora and fauna, flamingos are come here from Europe during the monsoons! This place is excellent weekend destination to visit near Mumbai mostly for outdoor activities like trekking, hiking, bird watching and relaxing in nature.

5. Igatpuri
Igatpuri is one of the best monsoon destination located outside from the crowd of Mumbai. It is a small, but amazing hill station located in the Sahyadri Hills. It is surrounded by Dense forests and lots of ancient temples, this place is well-known for the Vipassana International Academy where you can learn the old technique of meditation. During monsoon, this small location in Sahyadri Hills is transformed into a new world with the lush greenery and cool atmosphere.

6, Matheran
Matheran is well-known for its cool weather and peaceful atmosphere, if you want some peaceful time from the everyday life of city.
