Amboli is located in south Maharashtra, India. It is known as  ‘Mahabaleshwar' of konkan. Amboli is an eco-friendly hill station in the southern ranges of the Sahyadri hills, Amboli at an altitude of 690 m. it is the last mountain resort before the coastal highlands of goa. If you're planning to spend a few days in splendid isolation with your family, Amboli is an ideal destination. Amboli has a cool and invigorating climate.
      Amboli village came across the road from Vengurla port to the city of Belgaum. More than 80,000 tourists visit this place each year. In rainy season you see beautiful waterfalls here. Source of the Hiranyakeshi river, Shiva temple which called as "Hiranyakeshwar" Temple, Mahadevgad, Nagartas fall, Kawalesad and Narayangad are some major spots also worth visiting. The main attraction for tourists in amboli is the high rainfall. No word to explain the beauty of amboli ghat n waterfall in rainy season.
      Amboli hill station is located at about 36 Kms from Sawantwadi village on Vengurla - Belgam Road. It is a pleasant drive on Ghats (mountain) through forest. This hill Station is located at the top of the hill, at an altitude of 2261 ft. This place of highest rainfall in Maharashtra. Annual average rainfall is 8m. A hilly place with so high rainfall makes Amboli a nice place for a holiday destination. Best time to visit this place are in rainy seassion from July to sept with beautiful lush green environment, waterfall, and cool mornings are the nature's gift to this place.
      Amboli is a non-commercialized place and their has no any luxury hotels. But, the location of hotel is great and you feel like you are staying in a forest. The views on the way were beautiful . It was amezing thing to see the river originate from inside a cave. There is a small Shiv - Parvati temple. Also you can see the amezing views from Mahadev Garh. Sawantwadi is just 30 km away from amboli and its famous for wooden toys other wooden items.
