Calangute is famous region for its beaches, calangute beach boasts through its presence in north-east from capital city Panaji at 15 kms. This beach is visited by thousands of domestic and international tourists. The peak tourist season is during New Year and Christmas, and during the summer in May. During the monsoon season, from June to September, the sea can be rough and because of that swimming is prohibited. The beach offers many water sport activities like parasailing and water skiing, among others.
Calangute is one of the best beach in goa. Very lively filled with people and shops with amazing clothes and merchandise to shop. You can also get tattoos done here. Cute little shacks to eat good food with great service and cheap booze. The nightlife in Calangute is  differs from too much crowded ones in Anjuna beach in terms of being peaceful unlike wilder one. Almost all bars close down by 10.00 pm. The only exception in Baga beach end is the Tito's bar that remains open till midnight though.
But, there are no swaying palms nor are there any traditional boats lying there to add variety. The waves are bigger and heavier here due to the rapid drop.
