Calangute is one of the best beach in goa. Very lively filled with people and shops with amazing clothes and merchandise to shop. You can also get tattoos done here. Cute little shacks to eat good food with great service and cheap booze. The nightlife in Calangute is differs from too much crowded ones in Anjuna beach in terms of being peaceful unlike wilder one. Almost all bars close down by 10.00 pm. The only exception in Baga beach end is the Tito's bar that remains open till midnight though.
But, there are no swaying palms nor are there any traditional boats lying there to add variety. The waves are bigger and heavier here due to the rapid drop.

How to reach Calangute beach.
By Train:
Thivim is nearest railway station here. It takes 20 minutes to reach by taxi. You may have to pay Rs.300 for that. Other railway stations are at Margao and Vasco da Gama.
By Bus:
Although state buses run in different locations frequently covering many parts of Goa, you may have to change a few if distance is long (for example, from the airport you should need three buses to get to Calangute) Usually a bus from Panaji charges Rs.10-15 but fares entirely depend on bus routes.
By Taxi:
Those willing to take prepaid taxi from outer airport counter have to pay Rs.800. while discussing the price directly with the driver should result into cheaper price.
